Sivagami frequently sponsors prominent programs in Portland by dance troupes from India.

1995. Sponsored Mahalakshmi and Narendra’s first BharataNatyam performance in Portland at the Dolores Winningstad Theater

2001. Sponsored “The Living Tree“, a CCA production at the Newmark Theater. Sponsored the first dance camp in Portland by Mahalakshmi (12 participants)

2002. Sponsored a 3-week dance camp/workshop in Portland by Mahalakshmi and G.Narendra – the world famous exponents of Bharatnatyam. (16 participants)

2003. Sponsored a 3-week dance camp/workshop in Portland by Mahalakshmi and G.Narendra.(32 participants).

Sivagami is particularly interested in promoting healing through the arts. She is an oncology dietitian who now devotes all her time to this art. Several programs have been given as fund-raisers for the Nargis Dutt Cancer Foundation and Hope Charities. She is on the Board of Directors of both charities and is an active participant of their projects.
