The purpose of the Kala Bharathi Dance Theatre
is to serve as an agent of cultural preservation, presentation
and exchange. Kala Bharathi seeks to sustain and develop the
traditional art forms of India through the
teaching and performance of Shivy Vanka for
audiences of all backgrounds. Furthermore,
Kala Bharathi works to engage other art forms and cultures through
educational programs and collaborative endeavors. Kala Bharathi thereby
promotes the values of Indian culture, preserves an ancient art form,
and forges links among Indian, US and other cultures.
